We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Health & Safety Specialist.

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Health and Safety Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that our operations adhere to occupational health and safety (OHS) standards, fostering a culture of safety, and supporting our commitment to community well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety programs, policies, practices and procedures.
• Maintain, continued development and ensure compliance with Energy Safe Canada COR requirements and Audit documentation.
• Conduct Job Hazard assessments and recommend mitigation strategies to minimize hazards.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant OHS regulations and industry standards.
• Provide training and mentorship to employees and contractors on safety rules, policies, practices and procedures.
• Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, documentation of non-compliance, accolades and incident investigations.
• Documentation management skills ensuring FOIP and PIPA standards are maintained and code of ethics observed.
• Prepare and submit safety reports and documentation as required.
• Act as a liaison between N’deh LP and regulatory bodies, contractors, and community stakeholders regarding health and safety matters.
• Promote awareness and engagement in workplace health and safety initiatives.

Qualifications:
• Diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a health and safety role preferred, preferably in industrial or resource-based settings.
• Recognized experience through Energy Safe Canada with NCSO status.
• Certification in health and safety (e.g., CRSP, CHSC, or equivalent) is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of OHS legislation, standards, and best practices.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Experience working with Indigenous communities is an asset.
