Heavy Equipment Operators and Laborers

Location: Bushe River, Meander River, Chateh, Northwestern Alberta

Roles Available:

  • Heavy Equipment Operators: Operate and maintain heavy machinery for projects in energy, environmental services, and forestry
  • Laborers: Support project teams with manual labor, equipment operation, and site maintenance

Heavy Equipment Operator Responsibilities:

  • Operate various pieces of heavy equipment (such as excavators, bulldozers, backhoes, dump trucks, etc.) safely and efficiently
  • Inspect machines and perform basic maintenance to ensure safe operation
  • Work closely with the ground crew and project managers to complete projects on time and within budget
  • Adhere to safety and environmental policies

Laborer Responsibilities:

  • Assist with site preparation and cleanup
  • Handle and transport materials (e.g., cement, soil, construction equipment) as needed
  • Operate basic hand tools and machinery under the supervision of senior staff
  • Follow project specifications and instructions from supervisors
  • Ensure adherence to workplace safety rules


  • For Heavy Equipment Operators: 5 years of experience operating heavy machinery
    Certifications in operating specific machinery are a plus
  • For Laborers: Experience in construction or related field preferred but not required
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labor (for laborers)
  • Commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and community values
  • Willingness to work in remote locations within Northwestern Alberta
  • Strong work ethic and team player
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Safety tickets, First Aid, TDG, WHMIS are preferred
  • Valid Class 5 and own transportation
